Clint’s background encompasses extensive experience in public relations, interviews, interrogations, crime detection, and prevention. His skill set includes report preparation, crime detection, delegation, court system navigation, investigative procedures, and people and facility protection. Additionally, he demonstrates cultural awareness, analytical thinking, decision-making, training and development expertise, organization, time management, problem-solving, and effective interpersonal communication.
In his role as Mills County Sheriff from August 2012, he demonstrated effective leadership by updating and implementing policies and procedures for all operations within the Sheriff's Office. Notable achievements include orchestrating the needs analysis for a new law enforcement center and county jail, and successfully engaging with government officials and citizens to secure funding for a $7.2 million facility. Through active involvement in the design, construction, and budgeting process, he ensured the timely completion of the Mills County Law Enforcement Center, expanding its capacity from the initially planned 26 beds to 32 beds while identifying cost-saving measures. Moreover, he secured significant grant funding for essential equipment and implemented technological advancements to enhance law enforcement, dispatching, and jail operations. He oversaw a team of 22 employees and managed a budget of approximately $1.6 million, while consistently pursuing additional funding opportunities through grant writing.
In addition to his professional roles, he actively engages in various boards, committees, and associations, including serving as Emergency Management Coordinator for Mills County and holding leadership positions in the Homeland Security Board for the Central Texas Council of Governments. He holds certifications as a Texas Master Peace Officer, Texas County Jailer, Texas Crime Prevention Inspector, and Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Instructor. His affiliations with organizations such as the Texas Sheriff's Association, Texas Chief Deputies Association, and FBI National Academy Association reflect my commitment to continuous learning and collaboration within the law enforcement community. Furthermore, his involvement in community organizations such as the Goldthwaite Volunteer Fire Department and Mills County Cowboy Church underscores his dedication to serving and supporting the community beyond law enforcement duties.
